Pin #175: Harriet Tubman Stamp

This pin is a replica of a Harriet Tubman commemorative stamp.  You can tell it was from quite awhile ago because the stamp was only 32 cents.  I don't remember where I got this pin, but I seem to have a collection of stamp pins, so I think they all came from the same place.

Pin #174: Barcelona Olympics Mascot

This is one of my favorite pins because I've had it for a long time and I remember being so excited when I got it.  It's the mascot from the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona.  His name is Cobi.  The pin is really simple, but I've always loved it because I was so happy when I got it.  I don't actually remember who gave it to me, though.  But it still brings back happy memories when I see it.

Pin #173: 2002 Rose Bowl National Championship Game

This is another pin from the National Championship game in 2002.  This was my first Rose Bowl.  I think I've said that before.  Let's just talk about the pin.  I like this pin because it gives the appearance of how beautiful the Rose Bowl is, with the palm trees and clear skies.  The only thing I don't like about this pin is the AT&T right in the middle.  Otherwise, it's a well designed pin.

Pin #172: Dodgers Infield

Just when you thought the Dodgers giveaway pins were all done, another one shows up.  This one honors the record-setting infield of Garvey, Lopes, Russell, and Cey.  I'm actually not sure what record they actually set, but apparently it was worthy enough to garner a pin.  This pin is the reason I get certain trivia questions right about the Dodgers, though.

Pin #171: Disneyland Sign

This pin represents the Disneyland sign that you see when driving into the park.  As a kid you knew you were so close when you caught first glimpse of the sign.  It just ramped up the excitement.  I remember seeing this pin and immediately wanting it because it reminds me of all those memories of going to Disneyland as a kid.

Pin #170: Revenge of the Sith

This is a pin that I think came with a Revenge of the Sith poster that I preordered before the movie came out.  It represents Anakin's turn to the dark side and transformation into Darth Vader.  It's a cool pin.  I love the lightsaber in the middle separating the two sides.  I love the contrasts in color.  It's just a really well designed pin.  Plus, it's a Star Wars pin and you can never go wrong with that.

Pin #169: Scorekeeper

This is a pin that was actually given to my mom for being a scorekeeper during my Little League days.  I have a couple of them because my mom was a scorekeeper for a few years.  She ended up giving the pins to me.  As you can see, the pin has a baseball field with the position numbers listed.  It's a simple pin, but that's ok because I wouldn't want my Little League dues to go toward anything fancier.  But it is nice that they recognize the scorekeepers.

Pin #168: 2001 Rose Bowl - Purdue vs Washington

What do you know, another Rose Bowl pin!  This one features the 2001 game played between Purdue and Washington.  I have a friend who went to this game because he is a huge UW fan.  I just have the pin.  This pin is a little different than most of the other Rose Bowl pins, though.  Instead of featuring the helmets of the teams, it just has the names and letter logos.  Plus there is a giant flame coming out of the football.  How it isn't burning the rose is beyond me, but at least it looks cool.

Pin #167: Italia

This is a pin featuring the familiar shape of Italy set across the backdrop of the Italian flag.  It's a cool looking pin.  My parents brought it back for me from their trip to Italy.  They found me a lot of pins on that trip.  I appreciate that.

Pin #166: Tommy's 50th Anniversary

This is a pin honoring the 50th anniversary of Tommy's Burgers.  Anyone who grew up in LA knows that Tommy's is a staple.  I didn't go there often growing up, but every now and then it just sounded good and was delicious.  I don't think I actually bought this pin myself, but I can't quite remember.  It's a cool pin, though, with the LA skyline in the background and the original Tommy's in the foreground.  The red color of the Tommy's logo really pops against the white buildings too.  I like it.

Pin #165: Mary Poppins

Another pin from the Disney Store's 100 Years of Dreams series, this one recognizes Mary Poppins.  It features the penguins, who showed up in one of the animation sequences in the movie.  I love Mary Poppins!  It is one of my favorite movies.  So naturally, I just had to buy this pin when it was released.  It's a fun pin.  It almost makes you want to start singing Jolly Holiday.

Pin #164: Rainbow

This is a rainbow pin.  I'm not sure where I got it or where it's from.  I've had it for a long time, though.  I remember it being in my room long before I got my first bulletin board.  But I can't for the life of me remember where it came from.  There's nothing wrong with rainbows though.

Pin #163: California Condor - Grand Canyon

For those who don't know, the Grand Canyon is one of my favorite places on this planet.  I feel so at peace there.  I could just sit up there for hours and stare into the canyon.  I've been there close to a dozen times, and each time I try to buy a pin.  This pin is one of my favorites from the Grand Canyon.  It shows the Canyon with a California Condor soaring overhead.  The Grand Canyon is one of the few places where you might actually see a condor.  There are only a couple hundred in the wild, as efforts to grow the population after near extinction continue.  I've only seen a couple up there, but it really is impressive to watch them soar through the skies.  And that's why I bought this pin.  I wanted something with a condor on it because they are a cool part of the canyon.  Plus, the condor on this pin actually moves back and forth, and pins with moving parts are always extra cool.
