Pin #434: Phillies Hat

This is another of the random Phillies pins that my mom got me for Christmas.  This one features the common red hat that the Phillies wear.  As a Phillies fan, it's a nice pin to have.

Pin #433: Goofy Falling

I'm pretty sure this was a gift from a friend because I don't remember buying it for myself, but I can't remember who gave it to me.  If it was you, I'm sorry that I forgot, but I really love it because Goofy is my favorite Disney character.  That's probably why someone bought it for me.  It's a fun pin showing Goofy falling, which is pretty typical for him.

Pin #432: Otto the Orange

This is another pin that was a gift from my cousin.  He went to Syracuse so recently he got me an Otto the Orange pin.  I really like this pin.  It's simple and represents a great school, a great athletics program, and a fun mascot.

Pin #431: 2012 World Series Champions

This is a 2012 World Series Champions pin that I got when I was in San Francisco in February 2014.  It was on sale at the stadium.  I guess they wanted to make room for the 2014 World Series pins that were to come later.  It's a small pin, but classy.

Pin #430: 2014 World Series

My cousin happened to be in San Francisco during the 2014 World Series, so he picked up a pin for me.  It's a pretty standard World Series pin featuring the caps of the two teams involved, but it's much boxier than past pins.  I'm not sure if the square, white background is supposed to resemble a base, but it seems like a lot of wasted space.  Nevertheless, I appreciate that my cousin thought of me.

Pin #429: Mickey Monorail Matterhorn

There's a lot happening on this pin.  You've got Mickey in the foreground with the monorail and Matterhorn in the background.  That's why I bought it.  I like that it represents so much of Disneyland history.

Pin #428: Dodgers 10000 Wins

This was a giveaway pin after the Dodgers won their 10000 game in franchise history.  A friend of mine happened to go to the game and gave the pin to me.  I think it's a really classy looking pin.  The colors are classic Dodgers and the diamond shape evokes the image of a baseball field.  Very well designed, Dodgers.

Pin #427: Italia

This is another pin that my parents brought back for me from Italy, I think.  It features the Italian flag with the country name and three jewels underneath.  I'm not sure what the jewels represent.  I like most of the Italy pins because they are quite different from pins you find here.

Pin #426: Believe in Magic 2013

This is one of the more special pins in my collection.  It was a gift from a friend who surprised me when she gave it to me.  I was very touched by the thought.  Plus, it's a cool looking pin celebrating 2013 at Disneyland with the slogan for the year, Believe in Magic!  I love the look of this pin.  And it will always make me smile.

Pin #425: Arlington National Cemetery

I got this pin during my visit to Arlington National Cemetery.  I like it because it shows a soldier with rows of tombstones in the background.  It's a very powerful image and represents the emotion that you feel when you go there.  I wrote in an earlier post about how glad I was to visit and I stand by that.  Everyone should go at least once.

Pin #424: Mickey Ear Hat

I'll be honest, I'm not really sure why I bought this pin.  It's not like the typical pin I would buy.  Don't get me wrong, it's a Disney pin, so it's cool, but it doesn't celebrate a particular milestone or showcase any sort of history.  Maybe I just liked the pretty 'jewels' in the ears.

Pin #423: Phillies Goofy

Here is a pin featuring my favorite baseball team and my favorite Disney character.  This was part of a bunch of random Phillies pins that my mom got me for Christmas this past year.  I like it.

Pin #422: Eagles

I bought this pin when I went to my first Eagles game in Philly in 2009.  That was a great sports weekend.  I went to a World Series game on Saturday night and then went to the Eagles game the next day.  It was a lot of fun.  After the game, I was looking for some Eagles gear because I don't have much, and I saw this pin, so I bought it.

Pin #421: El Paso Lasso

This is another pin from El Paso.  I don't recall where or how I got this pin, but it features the city name spelled out with a lasso on a yellow background.

Pin #420: Canada Olympic Team

This is another of the random Olympic pins I got from some connection of my mom's.  This one represents the Canadian Olympic Team, complete with maple leaf.  It's very simple and clean looking.

Pin #419: Happiest Space on Earth

This is my second favorite pin that I own!  When I saw it, I absolutely fell in love.  It features my favorite ride, Space Mountain with four smiley faces wearing Mickey hats.  Plus it glows in the dark!  I actually didn't realize that until I walked out into my living room one night in the dark and saw it glowing.  I often look at this pin and just smile, though, because it is just so cool.  And now every time I go on Space Mountain, I think to myself, "This is the happiest Space on Earth!"

Pin #418: Washington DC The Nation's Capital

I bought this pin in Washington DC during my last visit in 2013.  It features images of The White House, The Capitol Building, and the Washington Monument.  I thought that was cool, but I really liked this pin because of the cherry blossoms featured in the foreground.  That is a famous distinction of the city and I thought it was a cool touch on the pin.

Pin #417: The Alamo

Here's another pin from The Alamo.  I got this one during my visit in November 2012.  I like it because it shows a little more of the brick definition.  Plus, it's The Alamo.  I've always had a fascination with that particular historical event.

Pin #416: 2011 All Star Game Firestone

This is a generic All Star Game pin from 2011.  I'm pretty sure this came with something else I bought, but I don't remember exactly what.  I think it might have been a lanyard.  I know it's not a pin I bought on its own.

Pin #415: Haleakala National Park

I have no idea how I got this pin.  Haleakala National Park is in Hawaii on the island of Maui.  I've never been to Maui, thus never been to this park.  I can't even recall anyone I know going to Maui and bringing this back for me.  Aside from that, I'm not real sure what the image on the pin is either.  It looks like a fish hook and a plant of some sort.  It's not the first mysterious pin I have and it certainly won't be the last.

Pin #414: Antarctica

A friend of mine got me this pin when she went on an expedition to Antarctica.  It features what looks like a gentoo penguin on a light blue background.  This will likely be the only pin I ever get from Antarctica which makes it that much cooler (pun intended).

Pin #413: May the 4th Be With You

This pin was released at the Disney parks in 2012 for Star Wars Day, May the 4th.  I just happened to see on Facebook on that day that this pin was being released, and I really wanted it.  Not living close enough to go to Disneyland myself to get it, I put out a plea on Facebook asking if any of my friends happened to be going.  As it turns out, one of them was there, and she graciously picked up a pin for me.

Pin #412: Haunted Mansion - Huey, Louie, and Dewey

This pin was a gift.  My mom found it somewhere.  It features Huey, Louie, and Dewey as the hitchhiking ghosts from the Haunted Mansion.  It's a cute pin.  Not one I would probably buy myself, but it's fun nonetheless.

Pin#411: Cable Car

When I went to San Francisco, I knew I wanted to find a cable car pin.  I went into a bunch of stores near Fisherman's Wharf, and I eventually found this pin.  I thought it looked really neat.  I love the gold look and the simplicity of just the cable car.  It's very classic.
